policy on poverty related issues. The scheme funds four types of
activity with the potential to influence policy. These are:
Training and skills
development for influencing policy - Groups can train members in
the skills needed to understand how public policy is made and how they
might contribute to it.
Conferences, Seminars and Publications - Groups can run events that
bring in policy makers and provide a forum for dialogue. Groups can
publish documents which will be circulated effectively so as to raise
issues and reach policy makers.
Research or Evaluation - Groups can carry out research that improves
our knowledge about aspects of poverty and how they can be dealt
with. They can also evaluate the impact of actions to tackle
poverty.
Policy analysis and Promotion - Groups can document their work and
identify lessons for policy from it. They can use this analysis to
generate policy submissions or to promote the lessons to policy makers.
The grant can be used by the group
